Professional Experience
I have had the privilege to serve multiple roles during my career and I am thankful for the learnings I received, and proud that I was able to share my knowledge with everyone I could.
Secondary Skills
Apart from my professional skills, the diversity of my skills helps me enhance my competence in handling tasks and completing my objectives effectively.
Content Writing
I love writing for various purposes and able to create content according to the intent. The feeling of successfully converting thoughts into words is priceless.
Photography
There's something about taking pictures that calms me down. Capturing the moment in the frame and being able to preserve it forever is both a boon & a blessing.
Web Designing
Designing websites in WordPress, Canva, and HTML (incl. css) has helped me to build customized learning platforms for my work which have helped students in numerous ways.
Presentations
Preparing & delivering presentations in front of the audience is one of my top skills. The simplicity, elegance, subtle animations, and text to whitespace ratio are some of the key elements of a great PowerPoint slide.

Academic Writing
When it comes to Academic Writing, the dynamics of self expression change. The writers can no longer articulate themselves in simple daily language, rather, the use of vocabulary has to be according to the target audience. Plus, the qualitative approach takes the front seat in the paper while the quantitative mindset is governed by the aim of the paper.
“I am thankful to God who has blessed me with the ability to assist the students in such situations and guide them to be excellent writers. The scores, grades, and percentages become the by-products when students begin to think from a whole new level.”
At Trinity Western University (TWU), I work with undergrad students enrolled in ENGL (100 & 101) and WRTG (100 & 101) to assist them in their academic writing. This is the time when they feel overwhelmed with the assignment instructions, professor’s expectations, and peer pressure (yes, it is real) and struggle to complete the task assigned to them. The students could be at any stage when they require help – brainstorming, structuring, note making, drafting, editing, and revising.
I am glad to have had the opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives and be a light to coach them during their academic journey.

Content Writing
Writing the content is not just typing on a computer and posting it on the web. It is more of a way to effectively communicate with the reader. Whether it is for B2B or B2C, crafting content is never an easy task as it a lot more than finding the right set of words and forming a sentence.
Creating content is both by hobby and passion. Recently, I have written content for my previous employer (iTutorEducation India LLP, New Delhi) to develop their training material, knowledgebase and sample content for their students. Apart from this, I have also been part of the social media content writing team for The Flights Guru UK, Southall Travel UK for their travel portal.
I understand the requirements first and research about the product/service that the company offers to the clients. Then I take my notes and prepare my first draft.

Embedded Tutoring
Working as an embedded tutor with ENG 100, 101, and 103 classes gives me the opportunity to work closely with the students and help in their coursework. Unlike academic writing, embedded tutoring is more course specific and caters to each professor’s teaching styles.
I work with students (generally one-to-one) to understand course specific assignments, rubrics and deliverables so they prepare their work according to the requirements of the professor. The sessions are conducted both face-to-face and online, depending on the availability and preference of the student.
This has proven to be a boon for those who struggle to understand the assignment instructions in the class. This is followed by brainstorming, ideation, structuring, drafting and revision.

Grade 10-12 English Teacher
When I used to train for customer service in corporate companies, I realised that most of the new joinees lacked a basic grasp of English communication. They were brilliant in reading and small talk, however, when it came to productive skills (speaking and writing), they struggled.
Coming from the Indian educational system myself, I always had a soft spot for English taught in Indian schools and wanted to work with students in grades 10, 11, and 12 and help with make more sense out of their textbook material. So, I started taking tutoring classes for students of grades 10 – 12.
I used to drive from one home to another, one student after another, taking 1 or 2-hour sessions with each student to go through the content of the textbook (prose, poetry or writing) and help them understand the essence of it.
When other students were just learning the subject to score high marks, I am proud to say that my students understood the writer’s intent and could talk about the text from their own perspective too. This is what they would find to be the concept of ‘critical thinking’ when they go to college or university.
